As the name implies, HR digitization is a concept that involves automating and digitizing the Human resource department of a business. The primary aim revolves around saving time resources and improving efficiency.
Human resource automation uses software that automates time-consuming, monotonous, and repetitive tasks. Automation can be done of either simpler or complex tasks with the help of many software and modern technologies like RPA (robotic process automation) or with iPaaS (integrated platform as a service) like Make.com (formerly Integromat)
Before we move ahead, let's take a look at the automation types.
Automation tools enable the process of automation of tasks and activities. Any business has many different areas, and for every task, there is a particular automation tool or process.
It is a platform that comprises clouding services. This type of automation plays its part in integrational tasks and data-driven scenarios. Moreover, it works for system integration and hybrid integration. The best part is that the integration is seamless. iPaaS replaces the mundane, time-consuming tasks with cloud integration services enabling efficiency and improving the employee's productivity.
Robotic Process Automation doesn’t mean replacing humans with robots. It takes off the load of the employees by efficiently managing the boring, tedious tasks that would instead decrease the efficiency of the employees.
DPA offers solutions to bridge the systems and the users while bringing the feasibility to handle the manual business tasks. DPA highly emphasizes digitization first and then automation.
IPA is an amalgamation of various software and technologies like RPA, DPA, and AI. The combination of all these technologies brings in greater automation, and more capabilities can be unleashed.
Talking about HR digitization then, there are many different levels of it.
At this level, there is little to no automation happening in HR. Everything here is happening on a manual basis, and there is a high chance of errors and accuracy being compromised.
At this stage, there comes a certain level of automation that is task-based. Like the generation of the payroll or remainder are sent automatically.
Here come the automated self-services that enable the employees to be self-sufficient for the gathering of information and implying them. This allows quick problem-solving.
As the name implies, here, the entire process is automated. At this level, there is the integration of various software which then ensures no human intervention for the trigger and runs on its own without the need for supervision.
Here, the staff is completely omitted from doing repetitive tasks.
Considering the vast range of software and technology available in the market, the business and HR should be clear on the fact which process do they need to automate. Only then can a conclusion be drawn as to which automation technology is required.
Moreover, as we talked about, the right technology usage also depends on the level of automation the business seeks to achieve.
Employee onboarding is very crucial for the business, but that's something that happens very regularly because the HR department is always hiring new employees. However, the whole onboarding process is repetitive and time taking which can easily be automated. With the help of software and platform like Airtable, Slack, and Make.com, a lot of automation can be created to cut the tedious activities otherwise.
Recruiting might sound easy as there is a pool of applicants willing to work but finding the technical talent can be hard and expensive. In that case, automation will ease out the process. Recruitment as a service (RaaS) can attract technical employees, or Flexiple's web flow can be used to automate the recruitment process.
HR employees have to go through heaps and piles of applications to shortlist the candidates during the manual handling. However, this can be avoided when the HR department is digitized, and automation takes place. Using Airtable database, the automation can be created via the NLC automation tool Make.
Considering the level of automation in the business world, you shouldn't ask yourself whether you need HR digitization or not, but rather think about when you should do it so it's not too late. Whenever you're planning to do it, makeitfuture is your go-to company. We have leading software providers on board to help you deliver the best automation services.

Cloud Integration, iPaaS, SaaS, BPA… Ough, hard to keep track of all these terms. They are currently used frequently (and increasingly) in the context of automation, and it is sometimes difficult to make a clear distinction and distinction. We have already written blog posts on the terms iPaaS, SaaS and BPA, but we’ll take them up again here to make the difference.
But let’s start with cloud integration, because that’s the central umbrella term in which we embed all the other technologies in this blog post.

To illustrate these advantages, an example is suitable that we know well from our everyday work as an automation agency:
The central data to be used here is the data of a major customer. This can be the simplest information, such as the address. This address is required in numerous but completely different processes in the company: on the one hand, for correct invoicing in accounting. On the other hand, in the CRM system, where all the data of the large customer is also stored. But the address is also important in sales, for example, when employees go to the sales meeting on site.
Now the customer announces that the address of the company has changed after a move. This information will reach you by e-mail. There are now two options:
01. The e-mail is forwarded to all affected departments, accounting, sales, customer service, marketing… All persons open their corresponding program, CRM, accounting software, marketing tools (such as newsletter marketing) and change the data already stored there of the customer. This means that in multiple applications, different people do exactly the same thing: change one address.
02. But there is also an alternative: By connecting your applications, thus by integrizing them, the customer’s e-mail, or rather the information it contains about the address change, is automatically passed on to all affected applications: CRM, accounting, marketing, ERP. This does not require any clicks, because the cloud integration detects a trigger, i.e. address change, and thus automatically starts the process.
What sounds unimpressive in a single process becomes more effective when such a process occurs several times a day or weekly. Because there is a lot of data that is available in different applications and should always be correct. If these applications are cloud applications they are suitable for cloud integration.
But cloud integration doesn’t just happen. There are now a variety of applications that enable and implement this. Such tools usually allow us to link the relevant cloud applications on a central platform and define clear rules on when, how, where, how much data should be passed on and what happens to them.
To realize cloud integration, there are various applications and technologies that are sometimes used interchangeably.
We have made a first distinction between iPaaS and BPA here.
We explain the term SaaS in more detail here.
Cloud integration is rather an umbrella term that includes numerous technologies, such as SaaS, iPaaS and BPA, and this is also absolutely necessary. Cloud integration is a concept that is made possible by appropriate technologies.
However, all terms share the commonality that they are cloud-based and thus offer enormous potential for growth and scaling. In addition, they are often cheaper to implement and maintain because changed requirements are easy to implement.
As an independent automation agency, we implement cloud integration according to your requirements. We use a variety of SaaS tools and iPaas (strictly speaking BPA) software. Together we find individual solutions that are flexible and scalable.
